Tallinn, Estonia | May 22, 2025 – Swedish impact tech company Deedster has been named the Winner of the Mastercard Lighthouse MASSIV Spring 2025 program, a leading Nordic-Baltic accelerator for startups tackling global challenges.
Out of hundreds of incredible startups across the Nordics and Baltics, Deedster was awarded for its innovative ESG and carbon reporting solution for banks and insurers, helping them support their SME clients with real data, real insight, and real impact.
Deedster’s white-label platform enables banks and insurers to offer accurate, easy-to-use sustainability insights to their SME clients. By combining transaction-based emissions calculations with smart questionnaires, it delivers real data, personalized climate profiles, and actionable plans.
“We are so proud to be appointed winners in a cohort with so many bright teams and innovative solutions. It’s a recognition for Deedster that we are on the right path and also a recognition to net zero transformation as a very urgent topic.” says Niclas Persson, CEO at Deedster.
Mastercard praised Deedster for its partnership readiness, accountability, and innovation. The team also received high scores on the program’s “North Star” metric, which reflects a startup’s ability to inspire society and drive systemic change.
“This is a game changer. Today, most financed emissions are based on static proxies. We’re changing that with dynamic, verifiable data and real-world tools to help banks support their clients’ journey to net zero, while identifying risk, uncovering opportunity, and meeting regulatory expectations,” says Monika Martinsson, co-founder of Deedster.
A new era for handling financed emissions
With Deedster’s solution, financial institutions can:
- Offer transaction-based ESG and emissions reporting to their SME clients
- Provide tailored insights and personalized decarbonization plans
- Track progress year-over-year instead of one-off snapshots
- Understand risks and opportunities across their SME portfolios
- Embed sustainability into their core service offering
In the finals, Deedster was one of three finalists in the Spring 2025 MASSIV program, alongside Empower.eco and Trust Stamp Denmark.
“Deedster, Empower.Eco and TrustStamp are highly impactful companies touching upon social impact, circularity and sustainability. We are proud to have worked on the scaling journey of five impact tech start-ups this spring program. It is important to support start-ups impacting both people and planet and their contribution to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals” – Mats Taraldsson, Head of Fintech and Impact Tech Engagement at Mastercard Northern Europee
